New Utah Jazz Logo and Colors for 2010-2011?
Ross Siler reports that the Jazz will be making a switch back to the old music note logo next year, but with an updated color scheme. This is something I have been hoping they would do for years. After suffering through the hideousness of these jerseys for 8 years, they owe us as much.
Jazz President Randy Rigby said that the team was “just still looking at it” – but Deron goes a little further than Randy.
Deron Williams, however, said he’d already seen designs of the new jerseys the Jazz could wear next season. He wouldn’t reveal details, but they are expected to be a return to the music note in updated colors.
“As long as we don’t go back to the ones with the mountains, I’m cool, the one that Jeff Hornacek has up in the rafters,” Williams said, adding of the new uniforms: “They’re really nice. I think people are going to like them. I like them.”
According to the article, they won’t be going back to the old Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold – but that the updated colors are rumored to be blue, green and gold. Again – I like this. I really enjoyed the changed to the navy and light blue, but it seemed like it was just a Nuggets clone. If the new rumored colors end up being correct, that’s a scheme unlike anyone’s in the NBA, and I’m excited to see how it turns out.

I've been a Jazz fan for well over two decades now, and I can safely say that my fandom only grows with each passing year. Yes, the Jazz have the power to ruin my mood for longer than I should probably allow, but they have also been responsible for some of the fondest memories I've had throughout the course of my life. To those of you who have found the ability to read through any of my long-winded Jazz rants in their entirety, I say a fond and sincere thank you.

Jazz have had the light blue and Navy for too long, they need a change, and this would be perfect. Thats a sick logo.

Love it. I really do, Although I like the Navy and Powder blue, I always thought our jerseys were really boring, I’m excited to see some change.

Love the Logo! Davies, did you create it? But still love the current logo (UTAH or JAZZ ) on the front of the white jerseys. Hope to see the new logo soon.

Yeah Goose, my artistic abilities are slim to none. The artwork is 100% Brandon’s. I’m with him though, the current Jerseys are a significant upgrade from the mid 90s model, but the old logo is one of the top 3 or 4 logos in NBA history. Time to go back.

I really like the old Jazz logo and the new colors. The music genre known as Jazz has been known to play the “Blues” so I feel it would be important to keep some blues in the color scheme although I really like the gold and green as well. The logo above is ok but it just doesn’t flow to me. Looks to cluttered with color and doesn’t stand out. The yellow would be very hard to see from a distant in the font. I messed around and came up with a color scheme that looks a little better in my opinion.

The logo is great. The color’s I see here are horrific though. I mean TERRIBLE. Not the green, blue, and yellow.. Its the green, blue, and yellow that you choose. It looks like throwup.

I like they’re going back to the old logo, but green, gold and blue? That sounds awful! Dark blue, light blue, silver and black. Go with that! Has any team changed their logo as many times as Jazz? Is it a way for small market team to generate more income or what? 3 times in 15 years or so… Seems like a lot to me. Please please please not green, blue and gold.
